Our Story
Alejandra Collective, originally known as Continente Dorado, was founded in 2020 with a mission to create timeless, high-quality accessories for modern women who seek empowerment and individuality through their style.
The brand's founder and Creative Director, Alejandra Abondano, is an Australian-Colombian designer who grew up immersed in a culture that deeply values style and the art of craftsmanship. With a passion for design from an early age, Alejandra brings her unique creativity and vision to Alejandra Collective.
Recognizing a gap in the Australian market for sustainable accessories that not only elevate women's confidence but also honor ancestral techniques, Alejandra envisioned a brand that would connect her with her Colombian roots while offering unique, high-quality fashion accessories to women in Australia and the world.
Our designs are a fusion of modernity and tradition, versatile enough to be a part of every woman’s daily life—from day to night, travel to work essentials. Our collections feature ethical materials, including leather that is a by-product of Colombia's meat farming industry, palm straw, fair trade acrylic, silver, and natural stones.
Our Purpose
At Alejandra Collective, our mission revolves around empowering artisans by providing them with financial stability and essential resources, leading to an improved quality of life. Additionally, we are deeply committed to minimizing our carbon footprint on the Earth, valuing both people and the planet at every step of our supply chain.
By reimagining and redesigning the crafts of artisan communities, we create contemporary pieces that embody versatility and luxury. We take pride in preserving traditional artistry while infusing it with a modern touch, allowing our products to appeal to a wider audience while supporting the livelihoods of skilled artisans.
Through our ethical practices and dedication to sustainability, we strive to leave a positive impact on the world. Our values go beyond business; they reflect our genuine concern for the well-being of the artisans and the environment. As we continue on this journey, we are committed to making a meaningful difference and contributing to a brighter future for both artisans and the planet we all call home.
